Libraries |
HIG has worked with numerous libraries and government agencies to digitize collections of aerial photographs and historical maps. The collections were catalogued and GIS shape files were created for the collections to greatly enhance accessibility of the digital image files.
Historical documents are often a challenge to work with due to the size or shape of the documents and their sometimes poor or fragile condition. HIG has designed and built specialized scanning equipment especially for these types of collections that both protects the condition of the original document and results in high quality digital images.
