Welcome to the Historical Information Gatherers Digital Imaging Services page!  HIG has extensive experience in the scanning of aerial photography and other documents, image rectification, and the creation of prints & enlargements from digital imagery. Digitizing paper documents offers numerous benefits in the areas of productivity, storage, preservation, distribution, and more. Large documents such as maps, books, manifests, directories, and even artwork are much more versatile and often easier for users to handle in digital format.

HIG is a certified Business Partner with the USGS EROS Data Center, and one of just a few vendors recommended by the USGS for Research and Reproduction of their aerial holdings.

Scanning Services

HIG is capable of scanning aerial photography and other documents from any paper format, positive or negative film, blueprints, mylar, slides, and more. Large documents up to 44" wide can also be scanned.

The pricing below is per-unit for a standard 10" x 10" aerial photo. Volume discounts are available and we are happy to help you with other types of documents, please email or call to inquire. A minimum $20 handling fee applies to all scan orders to cover media, shipping, and processing costs.

Prints & Enlargements

Paper output from digital imagery is done on Premium Luster Photo Paper using Epson Ultrachrome Inks for outstanding image quality and colorfastness. They look and feel like photographic prints. Prices below are for prints only, fees for document scanning or data from HIG's extensive in-house collection are separate. A minimum $20 handling fee applies to most print orders to cover processing and shipping costs.

Image Rectification

HIG can rectify aerial images for use in GIS and CAD programs. Please see our Price List and Aerial Photo page for details on our off-the-shelf GIS-Ready Aerial Photo service, or contact us to work out specifications tailored especially to your accuracy and budgetary requirements. Volume discounts may be available for large data sets.
