Welcome to Historical Information Gatherers aerial photography services page. HIG has extensive experience in Research and Acquisition of aerial photography from a variety vendors, scanning of aerial photography, image rectification, and the creation of prints & enlargements from digital imagery. We also obtain DOQQs and other orthophotography. Research & Acquisition

HIG has a great deal of experience in locating and obtaining aerial photography from a variety of vendors. Due to our experience and relationships built over time, we are able to save our clients time and expense over other methods of acquisition. We offer several standard services along with a host of custom choices.

HIG is a certified Business Partner with the USGS EROS Data Center and one of just a few vendors recommended by the USGS for Research and Reproduction of their aerial holdings (the USGS began offering scanned imagery and ceased to distribute paper copies in 2004).

Numerous sources of aerial photography exist, each with their own offerings, price structure, and turnaround times. HIG will search for coverage and provide a list of coverage including date, scale, format, approximate turnaround time, and pricing.

QUICK SEARCH – HIG will search three major collections consisting of more than 20 million frames of photography. $30

CUSTOM SEARCH – HIG will search three major and numerous minor collections for specific coverage desired by client. $50 and up

Prints & Enlargements

Paper output from digital imagery is done on Premium Luster Photo Paper using Epson Ultrachrome Inks for outstanding image quality and colorfastness. They look and feel like photographic prints.

Scanning Services

HIG is capable of scanning aerial photography in either paper or film format (including roll film). Enlargements up to 40" wide can also be scanned.

Pricing for 10" x 10" photos. Volume discounts may be available, call to inquire. A $20 handling fee applies to all orders to cover media and shipping costs.

Image Rectification

HIG can rectify aerial images for use in GIS mapping programs. Four files including the rectified image, a world file, .aux, and .rrd files are provided. Volume discounts may be available. A setup fee of $25 applies for each separate location. Depending on how many Ground Control Points (GCPs) are used and how well the rectification turns out, a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd order transformation may be used.
